You should have administrator access ssh to update your .htaccess file.

.htaccess (hypertext access) is a configuration file used to configure features for your hosted website on Apache Web Server.

1. Navigate to the directory cd /opt/bitnami/apps/wordpress/conf

2. Edit the file in nano editor sudo nano httpd-app.conf

3. Scroll down to find the code which includes banner.conf and comment out this line by adding # at the start.

#Include “/opt/bitnami/apps/wordpress/conf/banner.conf”

4. Type “Ctrl+X” to exit the editor, followed by “Y” to save the changes.

5. Hit Enter to exit and you will be returned back to previous Console screen

6. As a last step, you need to restart the apache to reflect the changes in your website to remove bitnami banner.

sudo /opt/bitnami/ctlscript.sh restart apache

Method 2: By making a change in CSS

If you’re running a WordPress website, you should have access to administrator mode to update the CSS in your wp-admin dashboard. Follow the steps along to hide the banner by making the change in CSS.

1. Login to your website’s WordPress administrator Dashboard.

2. Go to Appearance -> Customize
